A Coaching Team That is Dedicated to Your Success

In his hometown in Hanford, California, school teachers characterized Andrew as shy, quiet, kind, well mannered and polite. He would often be found defending his home from imaginary ninjas – especially after watching a Bruce Lee movie. During the Summer you would often find Sensei Andrew going fishing with his grandfather, camping, going to rodeos, or helping his grandparents with their almond orchard especially when driving their 3-wheeler and tractor.
He enjoyed sitting near a warm fire while his grandparents watched their favorite sports teams. In early years of school he had many friends but as he grew older graduating into the 4th grade is when his experience with being bullied began. This led to him becoming a bit more introverted and preferring to stay home on weekends playing with his toys, listening to music or watching his favorite shows such as The Dukes of Hazard or Star Trek. Despite all this, he was always eager to help people in need and dreamed of one day becoming a hero like his grandfather, a WWII Veteran, the heroes in his tv shows and movies.

His mom and grandparents quickly saw a change in him and decided to do something about it. One day they found him, once again, defending his home from ninjas. Here they agreed that it was time to get him into Karate. Since he started training in Karate, he has become more disciplined and focused. He is now able to channel his energy into productive activities, such as defending his home from ninjas with his 6 year old daughter (which happens much less frequently now because she says she’s stronger, faster and better at Karate then her daddy was when he was younger).

Despite being bullied throughout his school years, he has managed to overcome the name-calling and physical abuse. He doesn’t let those things define him anymore; instead, he uses them as motivation to be successful. He is now a confident individual who wants to help others find their voice and achieve success. He also realized his goal was not only to earn his Blackbelt, but to be a studio owner one day. He found something he loved so much and especially more when he was first asked to assist his Sensei’s class one day. From his studies at school, rigorous training at the studio, hours of at home practice, the sparring lessons, competitions and earning his Blackbelt, his dream came true when he opened his studio in Visalia, CA at the age of 23 years old.

Sensei Andrew Farley is proud to have both his son and daughter, right beside him, as well as their amazing team of Sensei’s as the next generation of RDK Visalia’s community leaders. Together they will continue to be the positive impact as the #1 martial arts community experience in all of Tulare County. This life changing dream could not have been possible without the support of Shihan Chris Casamassa, Sensei Shelly Toland, all of the RDK owners and family.
